sheet pile

Definition

A pile in the form of a plank driven in close contact or interlocking with others to provide a tight wall to resist the lateral pressure of water, adjacent earth, or other materials. A sheet pile may be tongued and grooved if made of timber or concrete, or interlocking if made of metal.
